Rev. Edlen Cowley Appointed Senior Pastor of Munger Place Church

Bishop Ruben Saenz Jr. has appointed Rev. Edlen Cowley as the senior pastor of Munger Place Church, a vibrant congregation in East Dallas. Cowley has been serving as acting senior pastor since October 2024 and will now officially step into the role, while continuing to serve as Metro East District Superintendent for the Horizon Texas Conference through June 30, 2025.

Cowley, a seasoned leader in the United Methodist Church, brings a passion for dynamic preaching, community engagement and spiritual formation. Under his leadership as acting senior pastor, Munger Place Church has continued to grow as a welcoming and faith-filled community, rooted in a rich history and a bold vision for the future.

“I am honored to continue serving this incredible church,” said Cowley. “Munger Place is a place of joy, authenticity and deep faith. Munger recently celebrated their Day One, becoming a chartered United Methodist congregation in the Horizon Texas Conference, and I look forward to walking alongside this congregation as we continue to grow together in Christ and serve the city of Dallas with love and purpose.”
